U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan has handed down a five year sentence to former Florida Congresswoman Corrine Brown.
The 71-year-old Congresswoman recently stood trial for fraud and other charges having to do with a charity that was used more as a personal slush fund for her own benefit…
The Charity was supposed to help poor students but between 2012 and 2016 only one $1,200 scholarship was found to have been awarded from the some $800,000 raised by the charity.
There were two others caught up in her charity scheme that accepted plea deals and testified against the Congresswoman. Liberal loyalty runs away fast when people start seeing prison time in their future.
The two loyalist that testified against her were her Chief of Staff, Elias Simmons and the Executive Director of her charity/slush fund called One Door, Carla Wiley.
Mr. Simmons testified that the Congresswoman ordered him on dozens of occasions to withdraw cash from the Charity account and deposit in her personal account.
In a rare move in criminal cases the Congresswoman took the stand to testify on her own behalf and go figure, she claimed to be left in the dark in regard to the One Door Charity’s accounting and blamed the theft on… Wait for it… Her Chief of Staff Elias Simmons.
As one would expect her attorneys made a plea for leniency hoping that the court might take into account the Congresswoman’s community work.
I’m not sure of this, but my guess is she got one of the few conservative judges sitting on the federal bench because he didn’t buy that S$%t for nothing! He handed down a five year prison sentence followed by three years probation… If the 71-year-old Congresswoman lives that long.
Five years is actually pretty lenient considering she spent 25-years stealing from the American people… I’m sure the phony charity was not the only scam she pulled off over the years. If she had it to do over again, I would suggest she consult with the Clinton’s… They may have given her some tips to avoid getting caught. LOL
Who knows though, with some of the recent revelations, she might get a chance to share a bunk with Hillary before her time is served…
Any officer can get by on his sergeants. To be a sergeant you have to know your stuff. I’d rather be an outstanding sergeant than just another officer.
