[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]T[/mks_dropcap]he deceased service member was one of approximately 300 Special Forces Operators embedded with the Kurdish-leg Syrian Democratic Forces in northern Syria. The Special Forces Operators are in Syria to help recruit, train, and advise the Kurdish and Arab fighters who are trying to encircle the Islamic State to cut off their supplies and eventually retake the city.

[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]T[/mks_dropcap]he Special Forces Operator was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device just outside of Ayn Issa in northern Syria. Ayn Issa is located about halfway between Raqqa and the Turkish border where several factions are active.  The active factions include the Syrian Kurds, The Islamic State, and most recently the SITE Intelligence Group has noticed local tribal fighters who oppose the Kurds active in the area. The name of the deceased warrior has not been released as of yet,

[mks_dropcap style=”circle” size=”32″ bg_color=”#ff0000″ txt_color=”#1400f4″]A[/mks_dropcap]statement by the Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, was immediately released that stated the following:

“I am deeply saddened by the news on this Thanksgiving Day that one of our brave service members has been killed in Syria while protecting us from the evil of ISIL,” Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter said in a statement, using one of the names for the Islamic State. “It is a painful reminder of the dangers our men and women in uniform face around the world to keep us safe.”

[mks_dropcap style=”circle” size=”32″ bg_color=”#ff0000″ txt_color=”#1400f4″]T[/mks_dropcap]he following statement was also released by Lt. Gen. Stephen J. Townsend, Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force — Operation Inherent Resolve:

“The entire counter-ISIL Coalition sends our condolences to this hero’s family, friends and teammates. On this Thanksgiving, please be thankful that there are service members willing to take up the fight to protect our homeland from ISIL’s hateful and brutal ideology.”

[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]T[/mks_dropcap]he battle continues to rage on deeper inside of Syria in the eastern part of Aleppo, held by anti-government rebels. There had been a brief halt to the fighting there about a week ago, but the Syrian government has been pounding the residential areas since that cease fire ended according to doctors in Aleppo.

[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]T[/mks_dropcap]here were at least 12 other people killed in eastern Aleppo, while America enjoyed a day of gluttony on Thanksgiving, safe and secure with our families. About 250,000 remain in the eastern part of Aleppo, unable to leave because all routes in and out of the city are being held by government military forces. The only communications they have with the outside world, has been through the WhatsApp.

[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]G[/mks_dropcap]od Bless our troops that remain in harms way and protect and watch over those being oppressed by those who wish them harm.

[mks_dropcap style=”letter” size=”22″ bg_color=”#ffffff” txt_color=”#000bed”]D[/mks_dropcap]o you think America should quit playing around with only a handful of Special Forces Operators and send in a large enough contingent of warriors to save those trapped in Aleppo where women and children and being indiscriminately killed by Syrian government forces, or should we stay out of it and bring what people we have there home? 1. I’m sorry our soldier lost his life & someone lost their son & if he was married there is another widow & if they had children they lost their father. Every Thanksgiving will be a constant reminder of this tragedy! All because Obama called these BASTARDS junior Varsity 7 refused to go after them! I know we can’t change what has happened but it could have been prevented in we had not pulled everyone out & left a stabilizing force! Obama don’t want to kill this scum as he worships & supplies them! I pray some day Obama is brought to Justice & Hung for his dirty Deeds he did to OUR Country! So sorry this soldier had to even be there, much less loose his life!
